Did you know that you can get 25 uses out of 1 pair of mink lashes i you care for them properly? Some people just toss them away after using them because they don’t know that they can just reuse them.
Whenever it comes to makeup or fake lashes, make sure you keep things CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. That means disinfect your brushes, wash off ALL your make up and glue off your lashes to ensure no bacterial growth.
How to Clean Mink Lashes
You’re only going to need 5 things to clean and disinfect your lashes.
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Tweezers
- Q-Tips
- Napkins or Small Hand Towel
- Bowl
1.You want to add a small amount of rubbing alcohol in the small bowl (or whatever you use). Place your mink lashes in the bowl for about 5 minutes. This will help the glue to loosen up from the lashes and make it easier for you to clean it off. The rubbing alcohol also disinfects your lashes.
2. You want to use the q-tip to help remove any makeup product off from the falsies. You can also use an eyebrow brush to help brush out the hairs on the lashes.
3. Now that you have cleaned out the hairs on the lashes, it’s time to remove the glue from the band. This is going to be VERY IMPORTANT. You want to make sure that when you’re pulling the lash glue off the band you are holding onto the lashes tightly but you also want to make sure you don’t grab any of the threads on the band. Otherwise goodbye lashes. The glue is going to feel very sticky which is normal. Do this until you have taken enough of the glue off the band.
As you will soon see all the glue will eventually start melting off the band. Again, be very careful not to strip your lashes by pulling too hard. Make sure you use the tweezers to pull the glue off but do not accidentally pull on the band of the lashes, this will weaken your band and cause your lashes to shed.
And voila! You have clean mink lashes that can be used for another event or casual outing. I like to make sure I do this at least once a month because the excess glue can make your lashes harbor bacteria and also weaken the band which will cause shedding. This will save you from having to buy new lashes every time you feel like being a baddie. Although I have a drawer full of lashes because I love having a variety of different styles, lengths and looks.
I Hope you found this post super helpful when it comes to cleaning your lashes.
